Reitan Retail, the owner of Rema 1000, 7/11, UNO X, and more, establishes a Future Advisory Board each year. For 2025 the focus was AI, and I sat on the board advising the organization on how to best leverage artificial intelligence. The term ended in March 2026.

Reitan Retail's Future Advisory Board - AI for the Future
It was with great respect that I joined Reitan Retail's Future Advisory Board for 2025, focusing on artificial intelligence across the organization. This continued Reitan Retail's approach to external advisory that began in 2023.
Building on an established framework
Reitan Retail first established their Future Advisory Board in 2023, led by Birgit Skarstein. That inaugural board consisted of eight diverse voices from Nordic society who were tasked with developing radical sustainability actions for the company. Their work produced five comprehensive recommendations that challenged Reitan Retail to become more sustainable.
The 2025 AI focus
For the 2025 board, Reitan Retail turned its attention to artificial intelligence. As a board member I worked alongside other experts to advise the organization — which owns Rema 1000, 7/11, UNO X, and other major retail brands — on how to best leverage AI across its operations.
The work involved examining how artificial intelligence can improve everything from supply chain management to customer experience, while keeping the implementation aligned with Reitan Retail's core values.
Term concluded
The board term ended in March 2026. Advising from the outside turned out to be the start of something rather than the end of it — I have since joined Reitan Retail to work on AI full time.
