Real jobs - Working with AI at Reitan Retail
I work full time on AI at Reitan Retail, the owner of Rema 1000, 7/11, UNO X, and more. Same questions I advised on from the outside as a board member, except now I am inside and have the time to actually build the answers.

Working with AI at Reitan Retail
Reitan Retail owns Rema 1000, 7/11, UNO X, and other major retail brands across the Nordics and the Baltics. I work there full time on artificial intelligence.
From the outside in
I first came to Reitan Retail through their Future Advisory Board, where I spent the 2025 term advising on AI from the outside. That is a good vantage point for seeing what an organization should do, and a frustrating one for actually doing it. When the term ended in March 2026, I joined full time.
Retail is a good place to do this
Grocery retail is an unusually honest environment for AI. The margins are thin, the volumes are enormous, and the feedback loop is short — a decision about forecasting, assortment, pricing, or logistics shows up in real numbers quickly. There is very little room for a demo that impresses in a boardroom and then quietly does nothing.
It is also a business where the details are the whole game. As the shirt says: det er sluttsummen på kassalappen som teller — it is the total on the receipt that counts.
